NYSED enforcement action against her license
The New York State Board of Regents granted a consent order on the Marriage and Family Therapy license of Karrie D. Damm (license 000246): 2 years stayed suspension, 2 years probation, $500 fine. The summary states the licensee did not contest the charge of record keeping and failing to maintain effective rapport/communicate with parents.

A history of intimate partner violence against women was often neglected in family courts.

Protect yourself.
- Get a copy of all the paperwork. Confirm she is the child or children’s therapist. If she is not registered as the child’s therapist, full stop. You do not speak with her without approval from your attorney.
- Take your time answering questions. If you don’t know, say you don’t know.
- Stay calm. She’s not a judge.
- If you are a victim of domestic violence, you can file for an order of protection. If you accept a court order with shared custody after reporting DV, you will face challenges.
