Children killed during divorce, separation and custody disputes
The Center for Judicial Excellence, a nonprofit, tracks cases in which children were killed by a parent during divorce, separation or a custody dispute.
What the source says
- The Center for Judicial Excellence maintains a list of children killed by a parent during divorce, separation or custody disputes since 2008.
- Its tracking includes cases where a parent had asked the court to limit the other parent’s access before the child was killed.
Our view
Mothers and fathers both report abuse. Whichever parent you are, reporting abuse should never be turned against you, and no parent should be labeled “alienating” for trying to protect a child.
